Kevin Hart’s Card Play Backfires

Kevin Hart’s Card Play Backfires, Leads to Costly Decision in $425K High Stakes Poker Hand

Kevin Hart found himself on the wrong end of a massive pot during Episode 2 of High Stakes Poker Season 15, after a series of bold moves culminated in an expensive call.

The latest episode, now streaming on PokerGO, delivered no shortage of fireworks. Darin Feinstein pulled off a clever bluff-raise with air in a multi-way pot, Andrew Robl stirred things up as usual, but this time it was Hart who took center stage. If poker hands were movie reviews, this one might earn a score similar to Hart’s 2014 comedy Get Hard—not exactly a hit.

Hart Stays Busy at the Table

Hart was involved in action after action throughout the episode. While he avoided any outright disasters and even showcased some solid reads, two difficult spots proved too tempting for him to escape, ultimately costing him dearly.

He kicked things off on a positive note by making a sharp hero call. Holding J♠8♦ on a board of K♥2♦4♥J♦4♠, Hart correctly called a $35,000 river bet against Kirk Brown’s ace-high bluff, scooping a $121,500 pot.

Not long after, Hart caught a dream scenario with Q♣J♣ on a K♦A♠10♦ flop, giving him the nuts. Brown held A♣K♥ for top two pair, while Sameh Elamawy had A♥Q♦. Elamawy fired $30,000 into a $55,000 pot, Brown called, and Hart chose an aggressive route by check-raising to $190,000 instead of slow-playing.

The move forced Elamawy out and led to a stunning fold from Brown, who laid down top two pair. The commentators were amazed, with Nick Schulman praising the discipline shown at the table. Brown asked Hart to reveal his hand, and Hart complied, showing the straight.

In another hand against Brown, Hart again applied pressure—this time with king-high and a straight draw on a 6♥9♥Q♣5♠ board while holding K♣7♦. After Brown bet $35,000, Hart raised to $129,000, forcing another fold. Ironically, this fold turned out to be incorrect, as Brown had the best hand with K♦Q♦.

‘Señor Tilt’ Delivers the Knockout Blow

The most memorable hand of the night came against Sam “Señor Tilt” Kiki. Hart opened to $10,000 preflop with 6♣4♦, and Kiki responded with a three-bet to $30,000 holding 7♠7♦. Hart called, and the flop landed Q♦5♦4♣, giving Hart bottom pair.

After checking, Hart called a $20,000 bet. The turn brought the 5♠, pairing the board. Kiki continued his aggression with a $35,000 bet, and Hart once again made the call.

The river came 6♥, technically improving Hart to two pair. Kiki didn’t slow down, unloading a hefty $125,000 bet. Hart went deep into the tank as Schulman speculated that Kiki might be making a merge bet—one designed to fold out better hands while getting called by worse.

“I think I have to pay you off. I don’t think you have anything,” Hart told Kiki. In a theatrical twist, Kiki offered to let him see one card. Hart accepted, and Kiki revealed a 7. That glimpse seemed to confirm Hart’s bluff read, pushing him toward a call.

Moments later, Hart learned the truth: Kiki’s pocket sevens were good, and the comedian had walked straight into a value bet. The pot totaled $424,500, one of the largest seen so far this season.
