Champions Club Winter Poker Open Brings $1M+ Guaranteed Action to Houston

Houston’s live poker scene is set for a major boost this February as the Champions Club Winter Poker Open rolls into town with more than $1 million in guaranteed prize pools across a packed tournament schedule.

As one of Texas’ premier poker destinations, Champions Club has built a reputation for hosting large-scale, high-quality events, and this winter series continues that tradition. Kicking off on February 4, the festival is highlighted by a $500,000 guaranteed Winter Poker Open Main Event, a centerpiece that is expected to draw a massive field of players from across the region and beyond.

Winter Poker Open Series at a Glance

Running through February 17, the Winter Poker Open features 18 events catering to a wide range of bankrolls and playing styles. The series concludes with a $10,000 guaranteed Tournament of Champions, adding an extra layer of prestige to the final day.

The action gets underway on opening day with a $400 Monster Stack No-Limit Hold’em event carrying a $100,000 guarantee, starting at 11 a.m. A $150 Nightly NLH tournament follows later that evening, setting the tone for a busy first day.

While no-limit hold’em dominates the schedule, the series also offers plenty of variety. Mixed-game fans can look forward to a $500 H.O.R.S.E. tournament on February 13, while Omaha specialists have multiple opportunities to shine, including the $1,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship beginning on February 9 with a $150,000 guaranteed prize pool.

No-Limit Hold’em Takes Center Stage

NLH players will find no shortage of marquee events throughout the festival. Standouts include a $2,500 High Roller and a fun, competitive $150 Tag Team event ($300 per team), both scheduled for February 15.

The crown jewel, however, is the $1,100 Winter Poker Open Main Event, boasting a $500,000 guarantee. The tournament offers six starting flights, giving players flexibility to find their preferred entry point.

  • Day 1A begins at 11 a.m. on February 12
  • Days 1B and 1C follow on February 13
  • Days 1D and 1E run on February 14
  • Day 1F, a turbo flight, kicks off early on February 15

Survivors return later on February 15 for Day 2, with the final table and champion crowned on February 16.

A Must-Play Festival in Texas

With a deep schedule, diverse formats, and substantial guarantees, the Champions Club Winter Poker Open shapes up as one of the most attractive live poker series in Texas this winter. Whether you’re chasing the Main Event spotlight, battling in mixed games, or firing nightly tournaments, Houston will be the place to be for tournament poker action in February.
