“nlfreddie” Captures 888poker $100K Mystery Bounty Sale Week Main Event

The curtain has fallen on Sale Week at 888poker, and it did so in dramatic fashion. From February 9–16, more than 20 of the site’s most popular multi-table tournaments featured slashed buy-ins—most discounted by 50%—drawing in waves of value-hungry grinders.

Among the highlights was the $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event. Originally priced at $109, the buy-in was reduced to an accessible $55, attracting 1,996 entrants. Although the turnout resulted in a slight overlay on the six-figure guarantee, the event proved a clear success.

Mystery Bounties Steal the Spotlight Early

Day 1 concluded with only eight hopefuls remaining. Crucially, every major mystery bounty prize had already been claimed.

Players “xquizza” and “Fl4bush20” each pulled $3,000 envelopes, but Romania’s “cimpilic” hit the jackpot—literally—by unveiling the $10,000 top bounty. That windfall made “cimpilic” the event’s biggest overall winner, regardless of where they finished in the standings.

A Final Table Without a Clear Favorite

When the final eight reconvened, the chip stacks were remarkably balanced. “Klippan11” led with 85 big blinds, while Germany’s “TLuther” sat shortest with 20 big blinds—still very much in contention.

Surprisingly, second-in-chips “gixeru” was the first to exit. After doubling up “marcospaolo” in a clash of pocket sixes versus queens, “gixeru” later shoved with king-queen on a turned king, only to run into “K7deOuro’s” pocket aces.

“TLuther” soon followed, their ace-ten unable to overcome “Marcothx’s” dominating ace-king. The field quickly shrank to six.

“Con88” bowed out next after squeezing all-in with suited king-queen, only to be called by “K7deOuro’s” ace-queen. A missed flush draw sealed their fate.

Momentum Swings and Key Eliminations

Brazil’s “marcospaolo” fell in fifth after shoving pocket nines into “nlfreddie’s” pocket kings. The board offered no surprises, trimming the field again.

“Marcothx” exited in fourth when their king-trey shove was picked off by “Klippan11’s” ace-jack, with an ace on the river confirming the result.

The decisive turning point came three-handed. “nlfreddie” min-raised with ace-king, “Klippan11” flatted pocket kings, and “K7deOuro” squeezed with pocket nines, leaving just three blinds behind. After “nlfreddie” jammed, “Klippan11” made a stunning fold with kings. “K7deOuro” called and was eliminated when an ace landed on the flop—propelling “nlfreddie” into heads-up play with a narrow chip advantage.

Heads-Up Battle and the Final Hand

Although “Klippan11” briefly seized control during the early heads-up exchanges, “nlfreddie” regained momentum by flopping a set of nines and extracting maximum value.

Moments later, the final hand unfolded. “Klippan11” limp-called with king-eight of diamonds and then check-raised all-in on a king-high flop. Unfortunately, they had run into “nlfreddie’s” pocket aces. The turn and river changed nothing, securing the title for the UK-based grinder.

For the victory, “nlfreddie” collected $7,228 in total prize money, including $708 in bounties.
